Challenge

LBC Action began to work with Lise Aangeenbrug when she was the Executive Director of the Outdoor Industry Association. In 2022, Lise transitioned to the National Park Foundation (NPF), where she became Chief Program Officer and the leader of the organization’s Program and Partnerships team. Faced with the challenge of onboarding her new staff around a set of strategic goals set by the NPF executive leadership team, Lise engaged LBC Action to support a year-long strategic planning effort.

Action

Over the next twelve months, LBC Action facilitated a carefully-designed, interactive process to give the team confidence to achieve its short-term campaign goals while also working toward five long-term moonshot goals. LBC Action team member Harris Solomon helped NPF implement a structure, scaffolding, and templates to help the group define, measure, and achieve objectives related to climate, youth engagement, attracting new park users, and providing new experiences.

Impact

While the partnership began with an internal challenge, the work is already having an external impact. Now aligned around goals, the NPF team is using that success as a foundation for engaging with external audiences.
